New Delhi, February 2009: M.J. Logistic Services Ltd (MJ), a third party logistics (3PL) solutions provider has set up the first of its kind world class logistics centre at Palwal (Delhi- Agra highway). The first phase is scheduled to go live from March 2009 with 200,000 square feet of area having 20,000 pallet positions of ambient storage, and temperature controlled chambers from 10 degrees to - 25 degrees centigrade under a single roof.

The ultra modern facility is equipped with best in class infrastructure like high bay pallet racking, modern material handling equipment, efficient dock levellers and dock doors, cold store environment, full power back up with dedicated gensets, adequate internal and external lighting, best in class surveillance, access control, fire detection and fire fighting systems, planned storm water drainage and rain water harvesting systems, fully equipped office building including mess and wash area with lockers for workers, and sewage treatment plant.

Strategically located to cover the Northern region, the Palwal facility will be the main hub with the soon to be developed centres at Zirakpur (Punjab) and Haridwar (Uttarakhand) as the spokes. The centres will cater to the needs of the largest FMCG and retail market in India (NCR region) and the emerging industrial hubs in Punjab and Uttarakhand.

The Palwal facility has been developed to provide complete storage, transportation, distribution and cold chain enabled solutions to FMCG, Auto components, Retail, Paints & Foods businesses with special focus on delivering the critical 'last mile' from the facility and across the network. The facility has the Best-of-breed WMS that can rapidly integrate with ERP and other transaction systems and also be accessible over the Web.
